The North Carolina Department of Commerce Needs Your Voice

The North Carolina Department of Commerce is conducting a survey and a series of virtual public meetings to learn more about how North Carolina residents are discriminated against when searching for housing. It is illegal to discriminate in the buying, selling or renting of housing based on a person’s race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability or familial status per the federal Fair Housing Act. The NC Department of Commerce wants to learn how discrimination is occurring across the state so they can take action to put a stop to it.

The Agency supports this mission and encourages North Carolinians to share their opinions about fair housing issues by taking the NC Department of Commerce’s survey and participating in one of their virtual public meetings.

There are three opportunities to call or link in and provide feedback via virtual public meetings. Each meeting will cover the same topics and participation is free, open to all and registration is not required. To attend any of the meetings, you can join on the web at: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89248361727?pwd=OWFqUW1lVExDTkE2VjFBYXd1eVhUdz09 or call by phone at 929-205-6099 and use Meeting ID: 892 4836 1727 and Passcode: 995633.

Virtual meetings will take place on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 12–1:30 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 6–7:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 1–2:30 p.m.
